Nicky Willcock has been passionate about photography since graduating in Fine Art a decade ago. With a background in Brand and Communications from companies like Ogilvy, bmi and Orange, Nicky now works full time as a freelance commercial photographer and artist. Unconstrained by subject matter of an overt style, Nicky's work is defined by an acute observational approach.

 

Translation of light, texture, pattern, space and form into graphic composition seeks to describe and evoke experience of the world around us, rather than simply illustrate or reproduce. Significant in Nicky's work is an atmospheric use of light, and a creative approach to image making pre- and post-production  engages and communicates a point of view specific to each set of work.

"I love to capture absolute reality but approach diametrically from a position of interpretation and imagination. Social and autobiographical concepts are explored within this visual approach, such as isolation, and the preconceptions of aesthetics and conformation."
