David Hawson's work combines  youthful vitality with a mature sensibility. His work reflects the light and colour of his surroundings. In David's watercolours, we see a vibrant technique reflecting the landscape of his home in Scotland.
While living and working in the North East of Scotland, David has also been increasingly drawn to France and the Mediterranean stimulating his palette and encouraging a looser style, which has evolved to capture a greater intensity of light and colour whilst remaining faithful to his watercolour technique which - "...not only allows me to paint "on the move", but also prevents the midges from sticking to the paint!".
